How to grow tulip

  1. Buy firm, heavy bulbs in early fall.
  2. Plant pointed end up, about three times as deep as the bulb is tall.
  3. Water once after planting.
  4. Let leaves die back naturally after flowering; they feed next year's bulb.
  5. Cut off spent flowers so the plant does not put energy into seed.
